Let's Make a Prediction!

Let's watch the video about Ormie. He's really hungry and wants a cookie really bad.  On the sticky notes provided I want you to make a prediction bout what you think will happen next.  Remember the following things about making a prediction:

1. BE BOLD- It is okay to be wrong with a prediction
2. ACTIVATE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE- What events happened previously that help you predict what might happen next?
3. CONFIRM/DENY PREDICTION- Don't forget to check back in with the prediction you made to see if you were right or wrong.

Was I a common noun?

Today,

We learned about the difference between a common and a proper noun.  Please talk to your parents and ask how long you were a common noun for. After you have the answer please post it on the wall.

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

In 3H this past week we decided to kick it old school and turn back the clocks to the early 90's with some Carmen Sandiego fun.  As part of our introductory world geography unit the students were faced with a number of questions throughout the game show that they tried to research and answer.

If you have some free time this weekend, give the video a try and see how you do... Maybe you could even challenge them to a friendly competition....
